Mountains, Water, Sand

If there was one picture that exemplified Great Sand Dunes National Park, I think this would be it.  You can see all the really unique aspects that exist side by side: the creek, the dunes, and the mountains.  Altogether they create an incredibly unique, beautiful park that I’m really lucky to be working at.

  1. Stunning photo. Where is Great Sand Dunes National Park?

  2. beatingthebounds: It’s in southern Colorado, about 4 hours south of Denver. It’s the newest national park in the system, so not too many people know about it outside of the state yet. Thanks for the comment!

  3. Hi! Thanks for dropping a comment on my picture blog. I should clarify that I’m very much an amateur and probably not qualified to give you advice. That being said, I’ve always felt I do better when I just follow my instinct rather than trying to apply theory. Of course, books and other photographers are always excellent inspiration and the 1/3rd rule has always been helpful.

  4. Vineet: Thanks for stopping by! Well, I’m probably even more of an amateur than you, but I love getting advice and tips from all different sources so thanks for the help! I have just been pointing and clicking at whatever seemed pretty, and I think some of the pictures have turned out nice, but getting others’ opinions is always helpful :D

  5. You’ve got some great images here.
